Last week the HEIMA app became available on App Store and Google Play.
Heima app is a solution that helps families organize and delegate household chores and family responsibilities in a fun way. The app promotes equality among family members and decreases the mental load of family and household organization. The app is an excellent tool for enhancing coping and resilience skills within families by dividing chores equally and even plan and taking time off for quality time with all family members, walking the dog or going for a walk or a hike.
The two social entrepreneurs behind the project are; Sigurlaug Guðrún Jónsdóttir, software engineer and Alma Dóra master in international business and gender studies. Their motivation to develop the app was common interest and passion for gender equality. You can find interviews with them in English where they talk about the ideas behind the app and how young men are interested in the app to become more active in their household and family role.
